I still can't believe how fast time is flying by on me. I try to keep up with things, but can't seem to stay on top of it all. Why not? Here's a little list of what I have been up to (everything but laundry and cleaning my house - anyone got a good maid suggestion???)
Just as I finished writing 42 articles for the group I freelance write for, I was asked by the girl who owns Smart and Chic Bride (who I have been freelancing for as one of their artists since November) to be her business partner! Yup. I am now officially part owner of another company. Right now it is a huge time investment more than a money-maker, but hopefully I can figure out a way to work smarter, not harder. :) I still get to do the weddings as a primary stylist for the bride and sometimes a secondary artist if the party is big enough and my partner needs more hands. We have a total of 9 stylists working with our group now where last year it was just Julie (the original owner) and another stylist. We're growing fast! We were nominated for an award this year from MN Bride, and got another award recently. We were also featured in the St Paul Pioneer Press yesterday which was really cool. So I am expanding my services to doing photo shoots for engagement pics as well as print and runway and film. We'll see how that goes! I'm hoping I can start filling up my schedule a little more when Matthew starts school and Brett gets more bored than he is now... We also have our own cosmetic line that has amazing formulas and shades that work for everyone that Julie has been developing for a while now. We have quite a few different products, but we are hoping to expand the line down the road.
Still doing hair for friends and family when I have the time and teaching classes to different groups who want to know tips for cutting their kids hair at home to save money or up-do's for girls who are getting ready for school dances, etc. Still the Enrichment Co-leader as well as the YW Laurel Advisor.
Mikala just finished up the track season and went to her first church dance. I asked her if she had fun. She said "yeah. I only danced with 9 guys, though." She was only there for less than 2 hours, so I think that's amazing considering she was only talking about the slow dances. Don't remember that ever happening to me! :P She's sweet and I love her. What a lucky mom I am!
Boys are still growing like crazy. Can't keep enough food in the house for them. You can see all their muscles and bones and they eat like there's no tomorrow! Curious where it all goes. I swear they finish one meal and are ready for another one!!! I know they're boys and that's what they do, but I always thought mom's who talked about this phenomenon were exaggerating a little bit. And it only gets worse, right? Yikes! That's why I work so hard now. HUGE grocery bills! blah blah blah...
Jeremy is umping a few Saints games here and there. Also doing a million other games and getting ready for some big-time official camp in Wisconsin the weekend of Father's Day (I think it's so he can do D1 college basketball games or something).
So that's our busy life. Still waiting for Mary Poppins to knock on my door and make my life a little easier. If you happen to see her, give her my info! And no pics for this post because my home computer CRASHED!!!!! ugh...
the site is awesome. i am so proud of all you have accomplished. And honored to be called one of your best friends. Love ya, miss ya, Danielle
