I don't know what I was waiting for. Something earth shattering or even remotely interesting to happen, maybe? The truth is, interesting things happen to me and around me every day, but I just don't take the time to write them down. Sad. So what is new? Got a little piece of paper in the mail a week and a half ago. Mikala was student of the month for January at school and she never told us! I don't think she told anyone. Silly girl. I'm assuming that she didn't want all that extra attention or something. Who knows. We're proud of her, though! She signed up for her freshman classes and the load should be interesting. Honors Math, Honors Social Studies, Honors Lang. Arts, art, science, French 2, and band before school along with her first year of seminary...plus she's starting track next week and will still be on the varsity swim team. She's also the Mia Maid counselor and a constant help to me. Couldn't do it without her!
Matthew is always trying to make me laugh. I think it's his goal in life to be silly and see if he can get me to crack a smile. He's a noisy boy his mama can't get enough of but wishes she had a break from every once in a while. His energy is exhausting! Not sure where he gets it from, but it's endless. He's honestly the sweetest boy ever and will cuddle with me anytime I ask him to. He has no filter on what comes out of his mouth, so he's pretty much made an art of embarrassing me in public but making me laugh at the same time. He loves to practice counting to 100, counting by 10's and 5's and 9's. He thinks that's what they'll be doing in kindergarten in August. I think they might do that in 2nd grade? He'll have to wait awhile...
Brett started singing his alphabet two weeks ago. Love that! Cutest thing in the world to watch a little man try and pronounce all those letters. He sings all kinds of songs. Loves to sing! And if we count to get him to do something and get to 2, he finishes off the numbers to 10 for us. I think he's figured out that if he counts to 10 for us, he's diffused our frustration and made us laugh and then he doesn't have to do what we asked him to. He's a smart little bugger! Definitely knows how to push our buttons. I think out of the 3, he'll give us a bigger run for our money. As I was typing that last sentence, Brett had pushed a chair into the kithcen and gotten up onto the countertop. He opened the cupboard and got down all the bowls. Why? I don't think there was any reason for it. He just knew he was capable so he did! Is this why I am ALWAYS tired??? lol
I have to get back on track for running because I have a 10k in 5 weeks that I have to do. That half-marathon in August will be here before I know it, too, and I don't want to be unprepared for that!
We are definitely ready for spring to come. Today is supposed to be in the 60's which is beautiful. We just wish it would stay! This is the part of the year I don't like as much. The snow is melting and everything is brown and mushy. Waiting for my green and warmer days so I can take my boys outside and let them run! Hopefully that happens sooner rather than later. We've all got a bit of the cabin fever this year.
Other than that, our lives are fairly uneventful. I am grateful for that, though. When it rains, it pours, and I don't know if I am ready for that yet...
